Rapid Response Team’s Melbourne Branch was established in 2014, and has been diligently servicing Brevard County and surrounding cities ever since. Our team of restoration professionals are committed to helping our community when disaster strikes. In 2019, the Melbourne team restored 393 families & business owners from devastating losses. Not only do we strive for customer satisfaction, but prove our performance rating an A- with the Better Business Bureau. Each team member is provided with continual education and up-to-date training with state-of-the-art equipment. Our Melbourne Branch is NORMI and IICRC certified and ready to serve.
MEET THE TEAM
Jason Gilstrap – Branch Manager
Since November of 2015, Jason has overseen the day to day operations of the Melbourne response center and is also a member of the RRT Large Loss and Catastrophe team. Prior to RRT, Jason was a private contractor that specialized in large commercial/ multi-family losses and was deployed across the states to assist after many natural disasters. When Jason’s not working, he is an outdoorsman, a competitor and enjoys just about anything that combines the two.
Emily Smith - Sales & Marketing Manager
Emily oversees all sales and marketing for our Melbourne Response Center. She was born in Bury St. Edmunds, England and raised in Georgia, where she attend college at Valdosta University. With a background in Social Media and Digital Marketing, Emily has been an integral part of RRT virtual presence.
Jeffrey Dec- Project Manager
Jeffrey, known by most as Jeff, has the responsibilities of handling reconstruction and repair projects for RRT. He became a part of the RRT’s Melbourne Team in October 2019. On his off days, Jeff enjoys the family life and Florida’s great weather.
Rick Fortin – Property Manager Assistant / Permit Runner
Rick joined our team in October of 2014 and assists Property Manager’s collecting signed documents, deductibles and final photos. In addition, he supports the permitting process, from requesting insured’s signatures to posting permits on properties. Rick enjoys watching the history channel and car restoration programs.
Shawn Copp - Project Manager Commercial Services
Shawn has been with RRT since 2014, and is based out of our corporate office but is often dispatched to assist the local branches in critical situations. He is currently member of the RRT Large Loss and Catastrophe team. Shawn is also an avid marksman and enjoy grilling and cooking.
Jennifer Bihn - Project Supervisor
Jennifer joined our team in July of 2014 and assists the Project Managers with permitting, scheduling, and vendor relations. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.
Julia Duart - Permit Coordinator
Julia became a team member in July of 2019. Her responsibilities consist of assisting the project managers to obtain building permits, but her commitment to learning the industry along with her willingness to help anyone at any time has created a bright future with RRT. Julia enjoys traveling and spending time with loved ones.
Diedre Lorenzen - Quality Assurance Coordinator
Diedre was born and raised in Melbourne. She joined RRT in August of 2020 and is responsible for overseeing of TPA (Third Party Administrator) compliance for all branches. Diedre is certified by the IICRC in Water Mitigation, Applied Structural Drying and Smoke & Odor as well as Level 3 Xactimate user. Outside of work, she enjoys ballet and art.
Terri Pearson - Office Coordinator
In May 2015 Terri joined our team and oversees our branch accounting process. She was born in MA, raised in Ft Lauderdale, and in 2017 her family moved to Melbourne, FL. Outside of work, she enjoys the beach and hanging out with family.

Wayne Wright-Warehouse Coordinator
Since October 2014, Wayne has managed our warehouse. He coordinates warehouse deliveries, material procurement, and inventory. In addition, he maintains all maintenance of RRT fleet vehicles and trailers. Wayne is an Army Veteran and has successfully enjoyed his 20 year long career in carpentry & restoration industry.
Brian Paider- Emergency Service Supervisor
In 2017, Brian joined RRT as a technician, but with dedication and commitment he quickly elevated to his current position. He oversees the emergency services division. Brian and his team are on call 24/7, and ready to respond to any situation at a moment’s notice. In his free time, Brian enjoys spending time with his family.
Kelvin Nieves –Water Technician
Kelvin just recently became a team member and his responsibilities consist of communication with the insured, setting up and break down equipment, and document the process with pictures and metrics. In his free time, Kelvin enjoys spending time with his family and anything consisting of cars.
Jeff Gunter - Water & Restoration Technician
In 2015, Jeff joined Rapid Response Team at the Melbourne’s Branch. On a daily basis, Jeff is involved in the dry out process, fire restoration, and mold removal. His responsibilities consist of remove and repair affected material, assist with build-back and participation in RRT catastrophe response.
John Bunnell- Water & Restoration Technician
John joined the team in September 2015. His responsibilities consist of remove and repair affected material, assist with build-back and participation in RRT catastrophe response. John is involved in the dry out process, fire restoration, and mold removal. John loves spending his days off at the beach, surfing and fishing.
